Anyone who is very prominent in the field will do as well.

John Bahcall and Ray Davis first proposed astrophysical neutrino detection as a feasible experiment.

Davis pioneered neutrino detection techniques in the early 60's

Reines led the first effort that detect natural neutrinos. The first solar neutrino experiment was in the South Dakota Homestake mine.

The effort led by Ray Davis firmly documented the solar neutrino deficit, which in the end turned out to be simply because we did not fully understand neutrinos (they have a finite rest mass and can oscillate between neutrino types, so neutrinos created in the sun are not what we might expect by the time they reach earth.)

Davis eventually won the Nobel Prize in 2002 for this work. He died this year.
