Are there any of the ACE Inhibitor drugs that don't cause headaches and cough?

    Any of them can cause these symptoms.

    A viable alternative for many people is a class of drugs called

    ARB (ACE receptor blockers) gives most of the benefits w/o the side effects.

    Unfortunately ACE inhibitors can cause a headache and a very dry irritable cough in about 10% of users. The cough is not dangerous, and usually stops when the medication is changed or discontinued by the doctor. There are also medications such as Picotamide (currently being researched and not available in the U.S. yet) that can stop or reduce coughing when discontinuing medication is not an option.
