How can the Eternal flame at JFK's grave be called eternal?

...And what would happen if I were to go over and snuff it out?

It's pretty easy for it to be *called* eternal. Someone thought of it, and then they said it. Thus it is called eternal. Say it with me, "Eee-turn-all." Whether it actually is eternal or not is a completely different question.

What would happen if you were to go over an snuff it out? I would imagine that it would be extinguished. A better question might be, "What would happen to me if I were to go over and snuff it out?" Let's just say that it wouldn't be pretty. =]

The eternal flame has been extinguished some cases with the help of twist of destiny. On December 10, 193295c76acbf4caaed33c36b1b5fc2cb13, a team of Catholic schoolchildren have been sprinkling the fast-term flame with holy water. The cap got here off the bottle and water poured onto the flame, putting it out. A cemetery real at as quickly as relit the flame with the help of hand.[3295c76acbf4caaed33c36b1b5fc2cb13295c76acbf4caaed33c36b1b5fc2cb1] In August 193295c76acbf4caaed33c36b1b5fc2cb17, an somewhat heavy rain extinguished the everlasting flame. a close-by electric transformer flooded as properly, depriving the spark igniter of power and combating the flame from being relit. After the rain ended, a cemetery real relit the flame with the help of hand. 2 of the gravesite's flagstones had to be bumped off to get entry to the transformer and fix it.

The flame at JFK's grave site is referred to as "eternal" because it is always kept lit, and will be, ad infinitum. JFK's grave site is respectfully guarded by various representatives from the military, is roped off, and to even imply that such a disgraceful act could or would be committed makes one wonder about a person who would even think of such a thing. A person such as that would have to be very young, to not know the loss and sorrow this country suffered when JFK was assassinated.

The flame at JFK's gravesite is eternal, simply because it will never be able to be "snuffed" as you put it, there are far to many national guard for that to happen....and if you try....well good luck, have a nice holiday at guantanemo....

because the flame never goes out and if you did that you would be arrested because that is considered defacing public property. good luck and god bless and happy thanksgiving.
