As far as a 14 year old??!? Absolutely not. There is NO reason a 14 year old even NEEDS one. How can the parents not know that is primarily a "sexual" peircing. There are only two reasons to get your tongue pierced. One, oral. Two, to mess up your teeth.

Besides, is that even popular anymore?!? I got rid of mine 2 years ago...lol

Dragon thinks that it is okay if the parent and child are both okay with it. She doesn't want to get in the argument with a parent about what is right for their child. Just because Dragon does not have any piercings, does not mean that other people shouldn't have any.

Sure, 14 seems young for a tongue piercing, but think about the babies who have their ears pierced without having a chance to decide it for themselves. Dragon is hoping that daughter was the one who wanted the piercing, and the mother was obliging enough to allow it.

my daughter is 13 and asked me for her bd if she could get a tongue pierced. I didn't have to say a word because the look that I gave her said it all. I'm still not clear on the whole purpose of the tongue piercing thing, I've heard that its something sexual which I cant even imagine how have a big glob of hardness sticking out of your mouth could bring any type of pleasure but then again I can totally satisfy a man without extra help

I think it's very important for young people to consider the image portrayed, and when they are unable to do so, it's the parent's job. I would not let a 14 y/o child pierce her tongue. She can wait till she's 18 and make that decision then.

Interesting, personally I would not get my tongue pierced. I think it is not attractive or "cool" at all. I think that if I had a daughter who was 14 then I would let her if she paid for it, because it is her body and she could do what she wanted but she would have to face the consequences.

Everyone is entitled to his or her opinions, and I guess there are many types of parents in this world.

I come from a relatively conservative culture, and I would not take my daughter to get her tongue pierced. Yet, I guess I would not strongly object if she decides to get her tongue pierced, as she should learn that she should be responsible for the possible repercussions of her actions. 14 may be a little too young, but I feel it's mature enough to be able to handle such empowerment to think for herself.

I have a daughter who will turn 15 in some days. She has a diary, yet no MySpace..too a lot drama. she will take heed to alot of music, yet we could take heed to some thing new. we are open to all questions about sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. we've had open discussions for years. She has her ears pierced, two times, yet no different piercings. fortuitously, she would not want different piercings or tattoos. She replaced into allowed to have a boyfriend in college really even as she all started ninth grade. she will communicate on the phone up till 8:30. No calls after that factor and no exception. She isn't allowed to bypass out with friends yet except to church events the position i understand who's supervising. she will positioned on a bikini it fairly is user-friendly , yet no thongs. She has some flowing strapless tops for throwing over a suit, yet no tube tops. you may teach her what the global is like and nonetheless guard her from those hazards. We were not given them to be their friends yet to handbook them on their journey. in spite of if she receives mad at you in the present day, she'll imagine you contained in the longer time period even as she has a better information of authentic love.

Oooh, ooooh, fired me up right away! Anything like that, the kid should pay for! I paid for my ear piercing when I was 13, and I paid for maman's too! I think if the child wants a piercing, she should be educated on the results of it, and then, if she still wants it and can pay for it, she could have it. I would not, however, take her there for it, sign the papers for it, or pay for it. Up to her, entirely.

I personally would not take my 14 year old to get her tongue pieced. If she wanted to get that done when she was 18 then that would be her choice.

two of my friends have got their tongue pierced. one didnt tell her parents until after she did it (her mom was okay with it i guess) and the other basically hid it from her parents. we were 17 that time.

wow. i never thought a mom would actually do that. most of them are against these things.
