I agree. Jerry Seinfeld was making a fortune with his series before it ended.
He writes books, appears live in stand-up routines, has a continual income from repeats, promotes American Express.
Wikipedia says:

Even though the sitcom ended in May 1998, Seinfeld still generates more revenue, through syndication, than most current shows.

i agree with you Jerry Seinfeld is maybe the best known comedian, but another option is Jim carry.

benny hill is known almost everywhere in the world as he was into a lot of animated comedy everyone saw the funny parts without the language problem,the same can also be said for the rowan atkinsons mr bean,
