Is it really possible for work to make you physically sick?
I'm talking about waking up ill on Monday and being like that until the weekend rolls around again. Sometimes I get so sick that I feel I can't finish my day, but when I get home I'm fine. I work in an equipment shop but in the office so I'm not around any of the chemicals/fluids the guys work with.

The obvious answer is yes, especially if you work with hazardous materials, or the public (who share germs), but I suspect that you may be asking psychologically, and the answer there is yes also. Most psychologists will tell you that if you are in a high stress job, that taking a sick day when you are not really sick will boost your immune system, because stress can absolutely take a physical toll on you.

I know excatly what your talking about. I was a housekeeper at this busy truckstop motel. There was so many rooms to do.I would actualy feel sick. I would feel like I had the flu or something. I would go home and take 800mgs if ibuprofn for the body aches I had.I still get like that to this day.I sure would like to know what it is. Sorry, I wish I could help you.I dont think it will get any better, it sure didnt with me.

well i would think that if you worked to much that it could make you physically sick because you wouldnt have time for yourself to rest and you would be worn out to do anyting and you can tell when someone is feeling sick from working to much i think so because sometimes my mom works to much and i can tell she is

YES! If you neglect your body, your immune system will get weak and you will get anything that blows your way. If your job is high stress, you can get an ulcer or worse. Many diseases are linked to stress.

That depends on what your specifics are. Are you referring to the physical surrounding that you work in, or are you talking about the stress your are under. Please clarify this in your question.

Maybe.....you can actually make yourself sick, if you convince yourself that you're sick and you think about the symptoms....it could happen
