Jeremiah 17:7

"But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.

This means to trust in the Lord and not man. To seek HIS word on everything- for His word holds all truth. God's word is much more important than man's.

While we sleep, the Lord is awake. Though we cannot see the path ahead of us with all its blessings and troubles, the Lord sees it and guides us through it with His love. These are truths we need to hear. Has not the Lord been ruling the world before we were born? Most assuredly, yes. Will He not rule it in the future? Of course. Since these are both true, then should not all of us Christians be trusting the Lord to rule not only this world but also our lives in the present?

Since God created man, all of mans abilities come from God in the first place. So, who are you gonna call on? The Creator or the created?

Yes, I put my trust and confidence in The Lord, my God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth.

It means that we should put our trust in the Lord, with every decision we make in life, because the wisdom of man is limited and that of the Lord's is infinite. Another way to put it is to turn your life over to the Lord; put it in his hands. The Lord can make a lot more out of us than we can ourselves.

I do believe this. I interpet this to say that man can always fail you, but God can't. So why take the risk of putting your trust in man when God will never let you down. Am I saying that God will always give you the answer that you want? No, but God will answer for your good although you may not see it at the time. I have multiple examples of this. Yep! The Lord is always faithful and keeps His promises! I wish people would do the same. I have never been let down by the Lord. Of course, He does not work on the same timetable I do, but He always delivers in His time! Praise the Lord!

Actually, I'm surprised I remembered that, I'm pretty new at reading scripture. Always trust, no matter how difficult things are.

I agree. I think one could agree with the latter half without being religious. Can anyone name one person in their life who has never broken their confidence? Lied to them? Let them down in any way?

I disagree with the argument that this passage is meant to control humans. It does not say, you WILL trust in the Lord and not in men! God has given us the power of choice freely. We can put our trust in falliable man, this passage says, but if a beneficient, perfect, gracious God exists, wouldn't it be better to trust Him to take care of things?

To Ronin- If God is in my imagination, why can I see his fingerprints in the intricate creation of the world?

It is better to trust yourself, than to put confidence in other people.
