It depends.
If there are a lot of people around the area where you'll be running, you should be safe.
If it's deserted, maybe not - you should try and find a buddy to run with.
In any case, you should always make sure somebody knows where you are - so if anything does happen, they'll be able to let the cops know you might be in trouble.
But, don't let fear stop you from working out - your health is far too important!

unfortunately it isn't safe for a young girl to run alone anywhere suburbs or not. My advice is to find a jogging partner. To many young girls your age dissappear close to home. You wouldn't want your family to go through the agony of not knowing where you are or if you are still alive. Find a partner or better yet a group to run with it is more fun and lots safer.

Unless you live in a war zone somewhere (which you don't), the risk of something happening to you is infinitesimal. It's certainly outweighed by the health risks you'd run by not exercising. Way to go, don't be another one of these couch potatoes!

i hope, for your sake, that it is.
surburbs shouldn't be too bad, but if i were you i would cut your run down a bit and try to get back before dark.
good luck and well done for keeping fit! hehe
