How can anyone's death be untimely?

Every funeral I've ever been to, the Preacher always speaks of how untimely the persons death was. How can that be if it is all in God's "plan"? If religious people really believe what they read in that black book, then no matter what the cause of death (natural causes, murder, cancer, AIDS or spread across about 1/4 mile by train), a person's death is not untimely...it was meant to be that way. So why don't they just come out and say it?!?

It isn't. Even suicides don't often ' come off '. You are also putting a knife at the throat at institutionalized misconceptions. That's why they don't come out and just say that. It interferes with business, fostered, controlled perceptions.

Your point is well taken, and as we accept the idea of God's plan, not arguable. However, I've always understood the remark to mean that the person was not ready, nor were those who knew him ready for him to die, especially if it were by accident.
