at first glance i figured this would be a silly question, however reading the words "down to earth" made me think otherwise. Sure, everyone will want ps3 because its most expensive, it has the best grafics (spl?), and is most def. the hardest to get. Who wouldn't want a 600 dollar machine that people are willing to pay 4000 for online? "down to earth", however, brings up an entirely differant side. If you can afford to spend that much, eigther have or do not want an xbox 360 for halo 3, and the ps3 is what floats your boat, well then so be it. The nintendo Wii is quite an intruiging system at first glance, however the games did not strike me as quality. The graffics were iffy at best, certainly not to the level of xbox 360's with the high def. cables, and the overall tone of the system came off as childlike. For a 10-12 year old, no doubt the Wii is the way to go. Since i have and enjoy my xbox 360 my answer is fairly bias in that it is overall the best system. I challange you to tell me the difference between 720 and 1080 pixels... my point being the graffics should not be the determining factor. Xbox 360 has not failed to add every major title, including the original xbox killer "grand theft auto", to its arsenal of games. This, along with the fact that all of the kinks and bugs of the first generation 360's are worked out, makes my choice the 360. This question, however is simply a matter of realistic oppinion. is the ps3 worth 600? in my mind no, in many peoples mind, however, yes. My only advice is to find a system whos style of games fits you best, and overall, which one you are not going to regret buying when you realize its not worth half as much a year or two down the road.

While, personally I would go for the Wii because it is backwards compatible with every nintendo past release , the 360 would probably be the best choice due to the fact it's been out much longer then the other two systems and at this point in time , it has a used wall (so games and equipment aren't so brutal on your wallet) and it's been out long enough for them to work most of the bugs the debut systems may have had. Not to mention price wise it'll be right in the middle of the Wii and the Ps3 and their will be solid title releases in the near future for all three systems. So , regaurdless of this , good luck with your decesion.

Truthfully none of the systems will be without problems. Historically it takes about a year for the bugs to be discovered and fixed. However, if you take that out of the picture the PS3 is likely to be the #1with more titles and more player friendly controls. The Xbox is typically less supported and has less initial titles, and the Wii is in the same boat and looks to be a last ditch effort in saving a dying company

id also say the 360.there are gonna be alot of games for this console and at 300 dollars its not too bad.i also think that the wii will have some good games eventually and after a couple months after th launch i think they will come up with games we want to see,like they did for resident evil 4.the ps3 i think will be a great system but not everyone can afford it.

What I don't understand is why people would spend so much for any of these systems when a decent computer can outrun and out-process any of them, and they can be used for other things as well. It's like racing a Honda against a Ferrari, it just doesn't make sense. Also, the game systems usually become obsolete much sooner than the computers do.

360... if halo 3 comes out this year. It has good games and graphics. it's pricey but not as much as the PS3.

wii it has the most revolutionary updates evr and the ps3 is just a ps2 with better graohics
