Why am I unable to send my email message? How could I rectify this?

I had just bought a new set of computer using window XP Pro. I am currently using yahoo mail. In the past, there was no connection problem with my old computer. I am still using the same connection, same modem and same ISP.

Are you using the free web-based Yahoo! email service? Or are trying to connect your POP3 client (Outlook, Eudora etc) to your Yahoo! Mail Plus account?

If you are using the web-based service and you have trouble actually accessing the relevant web pages, your web browser and/or Java plugin could be corrupted. In a worse case scenario, your computer might be the victim of a virus or spyware attack. Try using another computer (perhaps your old one) and see if you can login to your Yahoo! account.

If you can login but are unable to write and/or send any emails, you should contact Yahoo! for more help. It might be the result of a wrong browser setting in the best case or again a virus/spyware attack in the worse case.

If you are using a POP3 client, check if your smtp server settings are properly set. A new computer with a new POP3 client on it might not have the necessary settings.
