Late lunch...what would you do?

We went into a nearby sushi place for a late lunch while our clothes were drying at the landromat. When the server came, she told us that they were serving the "dinner menu" (the same stuff at higher prices) since it was after 2:30. I asked what time it was and she told me 2:35.

The meal I had planned to order cost $5 more. What time do you think is reasonable for restuarants to switch to "dinner"? Would you have stayed and eaten there? Would you ever go back?

I think dinner prices should start at 5pm. And I wouldn't have eaten there. It was only 5 minutes past.

I think a reasonable time to switch to the dinner menu would be 4:30. That's how it is everywhere around here. I would have not stayed there, I mean goodness it's only 5 minutes if they wanted business why would they try and irritate customers over a measly 5 minutes. I would've never gone back, even if it was the greatest sushi.

There are all types of policies in all types of establishments. Its their choice. For myself however, I would not waste my time questioning their policy. I would have left (and my decision would be not to go back). I associate with establishments that I feel cater to to my interest best. After all its my money...and I am not about to release it unless I feel reasonably happy or satisfied doing so.
