Has anyone fallen pregnant after being sterilized?
I am unable to take the pill and my doctors want me off any harsh hormonal contraceptives due to a medical condition, so that rules out most things, I dont trust condoms enough, so I have had a merina coil fitted and I am having problems with that, so I am seriously considering sterilization, as I don't want more children and due to my health anyway it would never be a good option even if I wanted to, but I have heard that even this can fail, has anyone had this happen, any input would be most helpful, otherwise my only other option is keeping my knees together and using the word no!!!! hmmm I don't think so somehow!!!!

Well Migx: Have you tried an aspirin. You put it between your knees when with a boyfriend? No, not really.
Your using something that doesn't work now, for you, it hurts, doesn't fit right, so I would ask a doctor to try and fit it. Maybe it's not the right size?
A condom is 99% so is sterilization. Nothing is perfect. I've heard of tubal pregnancies. Vasectomies are 99% although I've had one for 36 years, no little Me's running around that I know of.
What I'm saying is nothing is perfect.
I was a Med Lab Technologist and a retired supervisor. One of the best I may add.
I could not convince my wife for years, there was nothing to worry about.
There are about 5 million little minnows going up stream at the time of conception. That's how many there are to get through, only one makes it really, they all die naturally or fall to the wayside. There's little chance for them with a uterine device, a condom or sterilization. Don't worry so much, have fun while your young and, we can go into other ways but, that's another whole story, with your partner.

Very unlikely. It's more common when a man undergoes sterilisation. Extremely unlikely when a woman does.
