You should use regular lightning.Use low light in addition to the candles. It will create a really romantic feel. The kids should have their own little reception. You could hire an entertainer for them like a clown or give them creative stuff to do like puzzles, games and so forth. Each one of the kids could then work on a 'special' present for the bride and groom. This could be a card that everyone make or a large picture that all the children can do together.

    Hope this helps.Congratulations.

Try the candles, but bring some regular lighting for backup. Keep in mind the candle flames are going to wave, creating an effect of light bouncing. This could be really difficult for older people. It sounds like it could be really pretty, though.

I think the candles sound beautiful. I was at a small wedding once where they bought inexpensive table cloths and draped them over multi-tiered "boxes", then put the candles on top for a really dramatic effect. It was stunning.

I'm a teacher and I work with small children daily. I don't think you need to worry about them and the candles. Kids are great, and they aren't stupid :). They know it is hot and they know it will burn, and they often times know more about fire safety then adults.

Do the candles. It will be breathtaking.

I think candles will be fine but if you plan on taking pictures there you will need some other source of lighting as well. Or you could always string the clear christmas lights around and just put candles on the bride and groom table.

Use regular lighting if children will be present.

Candles can get expensive and they are hard to light up at the same time, yuou will ahve to have someone do this for you and lots of candle lighters.

You can use some candles as decoration and don;t light them, or but licghts that look like candles and when you plug them, they look like real candles, if you are in for safety and romantic effect, this would be your best bet.

    Good luck

I like the candles. Kids will be kids, but they should still be able to behave themselves. If all else fails, I'd have an area for the kids to play that's not candle-lit. I would use candles for the romance, but in the end, it's up to you.
