Which is better: Mazda 323 or Mitsubishi Lancer?

I work for a Mazda-Mitsubishi dealership. Mazda sells 3-1 over Mitsubishi. The 323 is much more vehicle than the Lancer. Holds value better, less maintanence cost, better gas mileage and has way more room

Mazda did not make a 323 in the 2003 model line....they replaced it with the Mazda Protege. If you are comparing the Mazda Protege to the Lancer...keep in mind that the Lancer line is known for various electrical problems. I think the insurance and safety ratings are also better on the Mazda. I've owned many Mazdas that I kept up to 160,000 miles of hard use...they are great, inexpensive reliable cars.

Personally, I'd choose the Mazda over the Mitsu, as the Mazda will probably be more reliable.

I haven't heard of any gas consumption issues regading the 323, but your BEST bet would be to check Consumer Reports on BOTH cars and make a decision based on that.

Mazda 323 is ok.The Mitsubishi is cooler and sportier than the Mazda 323 and plus its just as reliable.GET THE LANCER THEY HAVE MORE OF A REPUTATION!

Mazda is better quality & the Mitsu will give you problems in the long run. Just look at their value over time.. lancers depreciate very quickly.

I think you should go buy the lancer instead of the mazda it does have a better gas consumption.

Mazda is better by far. Resale value and performance.

If that information (about gas consumption) is correct, go with Lancer. Did you watch the movie '2 Fast 2 Furious'? You'll fall in love with Lancer.
