Will any of todays popular bands stand the test of time?
I just can't see Panic/disco, snow patrol, killers becomeing the next green day, metallica, areosmith or the rolling stones. Are there any bands out there that can carry the torch? Who are they?

I sure hope they're not as annoying as Green Day, Metallica or Aerosmith. I personally like the changing tides of music. I sometimes wonder why Aerosmith or the Rolling Stones are still touring. I thought touring was hard and blah blah. They're borderline geriatrics, they should stay at home and enjoy their retirement. I don't think that many bands now have the social impact a lot of bands from the past did because a lot of today's popular music is carbon copies sometimes of themselves. I really can't stand Green Day and especially not Metallica. I think that today's music is too focused on making in big rather than making a difference.

ya music today isnt as epic as it once was i think. a single comes out and everyone likes it and then a new one comes out and everyone forgets about it. especially in hip hop, everyone just likes the newest thing.
maybe the mars volta will stand the test of time cuz they are ery good and have pretty much been playing since at the drive in.
afi has stood the test of time because they've been making musioc for more than 10 years although they're entering the realm of being hot for a month then being forgotten about.
my biggest choice would have to be bright eyes cuz the music is so good. its very good to listen to the whole cd and you just start lovign all the songs.

Wait a minute,as much as i hate the Killers,im am downright sure they will be around for a while.Panic at the Disco,no,they WILL wear off.Snow Patrol sounds like it will become a one hit wonder on our shores.What about hinder.they just might last.

im sure lots of them will be remembered as trends of our time but they wont be listened to for years and years to come..coldplay is one band that i can see making music 10 years from and still being popular as ever

one work: Thrice. Check out "Vheissu" by Thrice, It's insane. They are one of the best bands today and are pushing music in new directions

our lady peace should of been with that list buddy. uh, i woud have to say...(sorry) that people like Britney Spears maybe not get into any hall of fame....but they will diffently be rememberd.
