You may need to make adjustments to your tools/internet options/ security and privacy settings.
Go to Tools/internet options/security/internet/custom level/Medium or Medium-High(depending on how safe you want to be)/ok/ok .
Then Tools/internet options/security/trusted sites/custom level/low or medium, depending on how much you trust the sites and how safe you want to be/ok/ok ,
Then go to trusted zone and uncheck the require https or secure authentication.
then to make a site a "Trusted site", Tools/internet options/security/trusted sites/sites/paste in the url in the box/add/ok/apply/ok.
You might also want to make it an "allowed" site: Go to tools/internet options/privacy/sites/paste the url in the box/allow/ok/apply/ok;
then to make it an "Exempted" site: tools/internet options/privacy/popup blocker/settings/paste in the url in the box/add/ok.
tools/ internet options/ security / trusted zone / sites/choose add site , (make sure the secure sites only box is not checked), and add the url/hit apply and restart IE .
You might also want to go to: tools/internet options/security/internet/custom level/run ActiveX controls and plugins/prompt or disable(depending on how safe you want to be)/ok/yes/apply/ok.
Tools/Internet Options/Security Tab/Custom Level.. button/Security Settings(Page) scroll down to/Microsoft VM/Java permissions/set to high safety

In IE, go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab and scroll down to the Java section and tickmark the "Use xxxx" (version changes with each update) for applet". Click Apply, Click OK and reboot (a reboot is required for some computers for the settings to stick).

in "Internet Options" select the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to "Java (sun)". Ensure "Use Java" is checked and hit "OK" This should solve your problem... if not, you could try using another browser like Firefox.
