Tree survey?

What is your favorite kind of tree?

What does that type of tree looks like?

What does it do when a heavy wind blows?

How does that tree look on a very dark night?

Of what object or kind of person does it reminds you?

My favorite trees are the ones that are native to my area in Florida.

They are intertwined, large, and provide plenty of shade on my rural lot.

When the Hurricanes come directly through my area -- some are snapped like twigs -- branches are blown off the trees, leaves are shredded, pieces of roofs and sheds and everything else is flying around, and there is a LOT of damage.

They look so peaceful during a very dark night -- and it gives me the sense of quiet and isolation - which is DESPERATELY Needed -- after all, I am the survivor of a short disaster of a marriage, and was a Long-Term Single Parent of TWO disabled children (now, Finally -- I am an Empty-Nesting Retiree).

They remind me of myself -- resilient, able to withstand the storms, the ones that break are similar to people who collapse into puddles of goo when faced with adversity, and the strength that comes from advancing age.

Source(s): Since where I purchased is rural, and it is by the acre, there is plenty of land around my home, and I enjoy it that way. IF I could -- I would (in the future) purchase even more acreage -- because I do LIKE living out in the country surrounded by nature. But .. that is just a dream for now ....

The Blue Spruce. It is a conifer sometimes used for a Christmas tree. It doesn't bend with the wind. It looks dark at night. This tree reminds me of my father because it was his favorite tree. I love this kind of tree because it makes a nice home for the birds and my favorite humming birds.

    -jack-pine

-tall, thin, with scraggly branches, grows in northern ontario, only after a forest fire opens the cones (takes tremendous heat)

-bends slightly, not alot, the trunks are strong and and slender, and there aren't many branches to block the wind

-like those you'd see in a 'group of seven' painting

-these trees seem very wise, stand quietly ,are tall and beautiful
