How would you go about putting a kid who makes A's back on track when it is making F's?

Well for one, you need to take away all extra curricular activities... they should be a privilege. Until grades come back up. Second, make sure they are taking the time to get the work done that they bring home. You need to be checking it over, and if you find something thats not right, help explain why its not right and help them fix it. If you are unsure then suggest that they bring text book home so you can research it, to be able to help. If this still isn't working I would try to get a tutor. Alot of the problems are that kids just don't want to take the time to get it done right, or check over their work. Good Luck!

I was one of those kids back when...I had so much potential! But I got in w/ the wrong crowd- wanted so much to fit in and not be such a science gk., so I did & what they did I did and my grades went right down w/ them-my point is, it may not be academic, make sure you check the friends, cutting class, drugs, booze etc..parents are soon to think it's a matter of extra help when it may have nothing to do with it. Think about it-you don't go from A's to F's for academic reasons unless there is a hidden disability /usually testing for that early on.

TUTORING MAY HELP..WHAT KIND OF FRIENDS ARE THEY AROUND? WHY DID THEY GO FROM A'S TO F'S? FIND THAT OUT AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION.
