Convert audio tape to digital format?
I have cassette recordings with my children's voices from years ago and I don't want to lose them. How can I convert them to a digital format (CD)? I don't currently even have a cassette player. I do have computer with CD burner.

There many software developed for recording sounds. Only you need a cable to connect your cassette player (from headphone jack) to your PC (to aux jack usually in blue color). Then you can capture the voices with the recording software such as sound forge while the cassette playing in the cassette player.

Get a tape player (very cheap) then get Sony Sound Forge. You can download a demo version thats good for 30 days. Take the line output of your tape player into the line in on your pc and record the tape into Sound Forge. Then you can edit it for time and also use a lot of the tools ie:restoration to make it sound good. Save it as a wave file then simply burn it onto cd.

i'm particular there must be a 'slick' way of doing this. the only way i will think of of could be via a digital voice recorder. you may wish one that accepts an exterior stereo mic enter (to connect on your tape participant's headphone socket), and saves data in MP3 format, or a format which would be switched over to MP3 via abode windows Media participant. those recorders are attainable from approximately £25 to £a hundred and fifty (try Currys digital, and then purchase it extra low-priced on Amazon), and, of path, they produce different makes use of as quickly as you have ripped your audio cassettes. basically verify you get one with the best factors i discussed.

The above advice was sound but you can get a free programme called Audacity that should do most of what the other does.
Just my 2 cents.
