The auditory canal is part or the outer ear (which also includes the part of your ear that you can see (the pinna) and the tube which leads to the eardrum. It is where earwax is excreted. The cochlea is part of the inner ear, and it is the snail-shaped organ that turns the mechanical part of hearing into the nerve impulses to the brainstem and the brain via the auditory nerve..
