So, do you smoke in you car with your kids in there?

I just caught the end of a news blurb about a new website for children to post pictures(taken with cellphones) of their parents (or others) smoking in cars. This is leading up to some sort of lawsuit to make it illeagal. Now I personally think people who smoke in cars with children in them should be dragged out thrugh the tailpipe and then hurt; however, this is waaaaay over the top. They mentioned a website that is obviously not up yet called(appropriately): littlebrotheriswatchingyou.com(now this may not be it exactly but it is it in spirit)

YIKES! Be afraid; be very afraid!

This is what s wrong with the world. kids being taught to turn against their parents. They are told to turn mom in if they think she is doing drugs. This smoking thing. They are told that punishment is bad, and they should turn their parents in for punishing them. They are told that winning isn't evrything, and as such, many childs sports programs no longer keep score. There are no winners, no losers. This kind of stuff is wrong. We are raising a socitey of kids to become weak, wishy washy people who will sell out friends and family the minute something doesn't go their way.

I think we should bring back spankings. I think we should take back the right to raise our own kids the way we see fit. They are ours. No one else should be able to tell me what to do if junior comes home late, or smarts off and talks back to me.

Better stop now, before I rant for pages and pages. You get my point though.

I saw on the news recently (I believe it was in Denver, CO) where the condo association of these particular condos banned smoking inside the condos. If you are a smoker you have to walk across the street to a parking lot to smoke. NOW these are people who are buying their OWN condo., which should be their OWN PROPERTY. Yet, they have no choice, but to obey the condo association, because they did take it to court and they did lose.

What makes the car thing any different? My grandparents smoked in the car when I would ride with them. I complained that it was to smokey sometimes and they would roll down the window, but reporting them NEVER crossed my mind.

I think this anti-smoking gig is going just a little to far. There is no solid medical evidence that second hand smoke will kill someone, unless there is EXCESSIVE exposure.

Honestly, the smell of cigarettes is horrible, but you know I loved my smoking grandparents with all my heart. I accepted their nasty habit.

Kids these days think that second hand smoke is abuse. They think getting their smart little Mouthe's smacked is abuse. They think not have coke in the house is abuse. Kids are being taught that they can push their parents and other adults around because it is their right, like they pay the bills or something.

I believe in juvenile rights. Yet, I do not believe in being ruled by a juvenile. With all that said...I approciate your insight by asking this question.

no i dont and i dont smoke in the house either...my son has allergies to even the wrong kind of carpet....however.....any organization or person that pits children against their parents should be stoned, strung up and shot....why would someone encourage a child to hurt their parents...the children dont understand the consequenses of this....its not like it isnt a known fact that some parents do smoke in the company of their children.....and before anyone goes off on a tangent - as for comparison to actual law breaking acts such as molestation or prostitution - dont try it theres a HUGE difference...and btw im with notanotary all the way

Sounds a little bit like when the communists asked children to rat out their parents. I don't think it's right to smoke in the car with children, but I don't think raising your child Muslim is appropriate either. Where do you draw the line?

i agree with you about people smoking in cars with their kids in the car. if they cared at all for their kids health, they would think twice about it. plus, they are usually the first ones to ask "why me" when their kids get sick. serves them right, i just feel really bad for the kids who do get sick because of their parents stupidities.
