How can I stop being such a procrastinator and start to get ahold of my life?

I need help. I am lazy, always tired, my living area is always a mess, my car is the same way, and I am unhappy. How can I get the motivation to get up and start doing something? And does anyone have any idea on how I can boost my metabolism and energy level?

Well, I guess you're a little afraid of success, possibly because you didn't have any parental models on how to deal with it. Besides that, like the Nike slogan says: "Just do it". Nike of course is the mythological Greek goddess of victory.

If you have friends that like you where you are right now and will get weird when you take-up success, beat them up ;), or at least get new success-minded friends (this is a must, that way you'll have a wonderful support base in case you're having a bad time).

Besides that, just have a go at it and don't stop. If all else fails, grunt and do it, it worked for Sharapova.

You sound depressed. What is it about your life that is making you unhappy? Make a list of these things and try to change them! If you can't find anything to list then it could be clinical depression that should be treated by a doctor. If you can find things to list that are making you feel so unhappy then it is situational depression and can only be treated by you making a change in your life. Medication will only mask the problem. Exercise will boost your mood, energy and metabolism. Start going to the gym or jogging or try a video. Start eating healthier. Take vitamin B-complex, st. johns wort (if your doc prescribes you something else don't take this). Stay away from fatty foods and eat more veg and fruits and also give up the soda! Drink more water and less sugary drinks. Remember to get out and don't allow yourself to over sleep or stay up too late. Try to keep a regular and balanced sleeping schedule. Focus on the positive things about yourself and erase any negative thoughts. If you let them, they will eventually creep back in and bring you down. A congested and cluttered environment leads to a congested and cluttered state of mind. I can't study or do anything if my room is a mess. Once you've organized your surroundings you'll notice an immediate change in your mood. I think you should also really go see a doctor to get a professional opinion.

First you have to be sure that it is just procrastination and not depression. Obviously you could find this out by visiting your physician and getting his/her opinion. If you don't want to do this you could try one of those new energy drinks..i hear they work pretty well. I think once you get beyond the procrastination once or twice you will be all right because you will see all that you benefit from being a happy organized person. The best way to get your metabolism and energy levels up, is of course, to exercise. I know how you feel about this..i have been in this kind of rut before too, I just finally realized that life was just passing me by while I sat there doing very little. This was enough to get me up doing things...
