How can I change my Yahoo avatar by using images that are not the goofy ones Yahoo gives you?
I see some people with their face and/or logos, etc...I'd like to do that as well.

Set up a 360 page. You can set it up so that no one but can view it. You can add a photo (a .jpg file) to that page. Once that done, go back to your Yahoo Answers profile (Edit My Info) and click on "Use my Yahoo! 360 Picture". There you go.
