Surely you would know the difference?

Take it like this when you played as a child you would have pretended to be a pop star singer/dancer or whatever as in make believe .

Whereas lying you are setting out to decieve those whom you are lying to, this a daily occurence in a lot of instances as we all tell fibs in one way or another it's only natural to tell (white lies) sic

Those who deny this are fooling themselves thus committing a lie unto themselves LOL

Be hopes though that lying to decieve others is not in a devious manner to hurt, unlike salesmen or all ilk to defraud is the worst other than to lie to your partner eg wife/girlfriend etc.

Other lies can be devastating....just ask our politicians..LOL

** I did not have sex with that woman** ring a bell does it??Cheers

when you pretend, you makebelieve. you can pretend that you're a superstar, or a ninja or something. but when you go around telling people and acting like you are a ninja or famous superstar then thats just lying. i guess you could say pretending is like a kids thing or if you're older an idiot's thing (pretending to be something when youre only joking...)

lying is telling something that is not true... pretending is acting.

To me pretending= lying to yourself and about yourself& lying= simply not telling the truth, but it can be about anything and/ or anyone.

If you are pretending, the person/s with you should know it. If you are lying you hope the other person/s won't know.

you may pretend to lie. so which you're no longer quite mendacity. in case you're quite mendacity, you're no longer pretending on account which you're conscious of what you're doing. you may purely make a lie look as a results of fact the fact.

Pretending is when u beleive there is something there that doesn't exsist.

Lying is when u know the truth but u don't want someone to know so you say something else to cover it up.

There is no difference. Either way, it's considered lying.

When someone lies their motivation is to hide the truth. When someone is pretending their motivation is to have fun.

the difference is your intention. Is the person wanting to play or deceive and hide the truth.

Sounds like bi-partisanship politics to me. Have you ever thought of being a Congressman?
