What is the single best day-trip in Shanghai, China?

I will have an entire Sunday and I would like to get off the beaten path. Have been to Nanjing Rd., the Bund...where else is great to go?

First you can visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center. This amazing building contains an incredibly accurate model of the future city in a couple of decades, complete with every tiny little detail and every single building! The model is huge and incredible, where you will see the Shanghai of yesterday, today and tomorrow!

In the afternoon, you can go to Zhujiajiao, an ancient water town several thousand years old filled with historical sites like old rice and oil stores, and ancient bridges. You will see many ancient buildings standing on both sides of the canals with more than 30 old bridges adding to the beauty of this ancient prosperous town. It is like a little Venice. You will enjoy a private boat ride on the canal where you can have some intimacy with this old town.

Finish your day at M on the Bund, where you will have a fantastic view of the Bund and the best food in town!
