Does anyone else see the similarity between…..?

….the old argument, by the church, that the earth is the center of the universe and their current one about creation?

At least they can’t kill people anymore for telling the truth instead of supporting their myths.

Update:

Psalms 93:1; 96:10; 104:5, 1Chronicles 16:30 and Ecclesiastes 1:4,5 speak of the (in some sense) "firm" and "established" position of the earth. Galileo defended heliocentrism, and claimed it was not contrary to those Scripture passages. He took Augustine's position on Scripture: not to take every passage too literally, particularly when the scripture in question is a book of poetry and songs, not a book of instructions or history. The writers of the Scripture wrote from the perspective of the terrestrial world, and from that vantage point the sun does rise and set. In fact, it is the earth's rotation which gives the impression of the sun in motion across the sky.

By 1616 the attacks on Galileo had reached a head, and he went to Rome to try to persuade the Church authorities not to ban his ideas.

I agree. They are late-bloomers. it would probably take few more centuries before they can apologetically accept evolution once they find a way to circumvent old belief that denies evolution through new interpretation of existing verses that would support it so they can still afford to come out clean and authoritative.

You really need to get over that lie you keep telling ! It is a Biblical Fact, and a Historical Fact that The Bible, The Church, and Early Christians never taught that The Earth was the Center of The Universe. Or that The World was Flat for that matter !

It was the excepted belief of the Science of the time.

I know those passages, they say nothing about Earth being the center of the Universe.

Despite claims otherwise, the Bible does suggest that the earth is the center of the universe. Why else would God spend a single day on all the stars, etc. and five days on the earth itself. He creates light first and separates it from darkness. This makes no sense unless you're talking about a specific place (such as earth), and in two places it talks about God holding the sun in place in the sky (if the earth had been stopped, everything on it would have been thrown off of it, per Newton's laws of motion).

The central theme of creationism is to discredit science and spread the myth that scientists are involved in some great anti-Christian conspiracy-having worked in ecology I can state that science isn't even interested in creationism. Creationists are imagining they have a level of credibility when in reality no one outside of the church is remotely concerned about them or their absurd ideology. Millions of Dollars are going down the drain promoting a bag of crap about Genesis being literally true when thousands are dying in the third world of disease and malnutrition and these people think they are doing God's work?

no I see no connection, also I see a very bad assumption you make about what Christians (catholics) did to the heliocentric believers.
