Is is true that cops in southern states hate northerners?
Is is true that law enforcement officials in southern states (e.g. South Carolina, Mississippi) deliberately target owners of vehicles from northern states such as Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, etc.,?
If I drive through one of those southern states will I be pulled over, dragged from my car and beaten for exceeding the speed limit by 1 MPH?
What can I do if I feel some redneck police officer abuses his authority? (or is there really nothing I can do?)

If you're flying through a school zone on U.S. 301 through Florida, then count on it. It's got nothing to do with your tag, it's what's on your speedometer, how many times you changed lanes in the last mile, how many times you passed on the right and whipped back into traffic, how many times you passed a line of cars and forced the oncoming lane into the ditch.
I have lived in Florida all my life, and there are an increasing percentage who make it H---for everyone else with an out-of-state tag and a northern accent. It's got nothing to do with the War. During the last 40 years, with over 1000 people PER DAY moving to Florida, we've gotten an attitude for a reason.
A few morons with NY/NJ/Mass plates who want to set land speed records are the reason that everyone else gets nailed for going a mile over the speed limit, and why people smirk behind your back in small town restaurants over the Yankee accents and white legs in Bermuda shorts.
People from New York, New Jersey and Mass are usually on their way to Disney World, the Keys, Sea World or some other tourist trap in south Florida. Don't even pretend that they are going to drive the speed limit when they have that far to go. In a rude driver survey, I think New York and LA are tied, so please don't even try it.
70 is routine for out-of-towners in 55mph zones in Jacksonville, and forget I-95 around Daytona and Orlando. Due to the ungodly growth rate (because y'all are all moving down here:-) ), some of our older highways still go through little towns, where we worry about our school kids and town dogs and old people. You seem to think you can do 70 through a school zone because you want to catch the Mickey Mouse Jamboree four hours away, and a cop is supposed to sympathize.
Those are the facts, and that's why people "down here" have an attitude about people with certain license plates. Per usual, it's because a few idiots have made a situation bad for everyone else. Funny we don't have a lot of speed/resentment problems with the people from Michigan, Maine, Wisconsin or PA.

First of all. A lot of Southern Officers come from up north. So that part of your question's answer is no, they do not target people from up north or "hate" them. It may seem that way when the "snowbirds" come down and get tickets. Roads get very congested and alot of the southern states have a lot of elderly drivers to begin with. A lot of the "snowbirds" are also older with impaired driving abilities. I think you are full of crap saying you were pulled over and beaten though. Should be for that part of the question.

The only people who have to worry about being pulled over are the speeders and drug Traffickers. Thousands of pounds of illegal drugs are confiscated by our Southern States Officers.
Most of these couriers are from out of State.

False...I mean honestly, half the people that think they have swag don't have much else, lol. Swag, is like a big *** front to hide who you really are, I'm not ever going to say "I got swag" because I have alot more than this idea that I'm awesome , because I really am awesome! I don't need swag! :)

no you won't be beaten,, you can't pay the fines and the bail.
They will merely get all of your money before letting you go.
The south has really came a long way, it is like fishing now, the catch and release program.

I have driven my car with Maine plates on it all over the south and I have never even been stopped.

hon, do you believe all stereotypes, just drive right and you don't have to worry about it! (and they usually give you a 5 mile difference)

You will be pulled over everytime and your best bet is to hit them and run.
