    (a+b).(a-b)

    =a.a-a.b+b.a-b.b

    =a.a-b.b <<as a.b=b.a>>

    =|a|^2-|b|^2

    (a+b)^2

    =(a+b).(a+b)

    =a.a+a.b+b.a+b.b

    =a.a+2a.b+b.b <<a.b=b.a>>

    =|a|^2+2|a||b|+|b|^2

    Im having a hard time visualizing this. Doesnt it depend on the direction of the vector?
