hi ..i have no idea about banking ..if i tell someone my bank account number ..is it risky!? ..and what things should be kept confidental ..sounds scwruey but please clarify! ...........

    first, you do not give out any personal information to people/companies you do not know. personally, i believe the only thing other people can do to your account if they know your a/c # is deposit money. however, for security purposes (in case the person who plans to do you harm knows your other details, i.e. complete name, address, can copy your signature) it would be best to be wary in giving your # out. many banks allow transactions over the phone or in the internet now with very lenient verifications process (usually maiden name, address) hence, they could very easily access your account.

    Well if you want to keep the money you have in the bank, never give anyone your account number. If anyone needs to check to see if you have a bank account and your credit history, they can call the bank and verify that information. Never, ever give your bank account number to some company you have never heard of in an e-mail.

    They will steal you blind. Hope that helps.
