If you install Xp again.. then old one also existing in system and you will be prompted from which Boot Selection You want to continue... at the time when you installing Xp legal copy, if it intimates you that your system already have Xp version, then you don't choose 'Repair' .. press 'Esc to don't repair' and you will then prompted in which drive you want to load operating system... Choose the Drive Partition where you loaded Xp before and then Choose 'Format using Fat32 (Quick).. then your old illegal copy would be deleted and new version will loaded successfully... I hope, you can do it yourself...

no u have to first format drive in which ur windows has installed then only u can installed the legal xp if u tried to upgrade it ,u will install the xp but not with the legal one.so i suggest u to first format it fully then install the legal xp.

u don't have to format the drive at all.

the only thing u should know is which partition your illegal version has been copied to(probably c:).and just selecting this partition in XP setup ...

i think you insert the disk, shut down the computer and restart, it should prompt your from there, it should erase the old version and install the new one. good luck
