What do you do to get rid of horrible cramps.?

I have had them for three days straight with almost no end. On Friday, I just figured that it was my period coming, and not to worry, but I have had them for three days now, and am starting to get concerned. I am definately calling my doctor tomarrow, but I need relief now.

I have the worst cramps alive, sometimes they even make me pass out. So i know what you're going through some things that help is Midol (sometimes it helps me and other times it does nothing) put a heating pad under your tummy and just lay on your stomach on top of you..if you feel alright enough to take a warm bubble bath then do that..thats always goood..next time before your perios do exercise and your period wont be as bad..good luck and i hope you feel better soon

I don't know how severe it really is and how long it has been going on, but I cramped horribly when I was on my period, and the days before as well, and I didn't know what to think because it just started happening out of the blue one day. After about a year, yes a year of those horrible things, I went to my gynecologist, and he actually put me on a mild form of birth control just to regulate my period and tone down the cramps. It works like a charm, and I don't see why in the hell I waited a little over a year to go to the doctor. Also, on your period, do you bleed a lot? This will definitely help with that also. I went from having to use a Super plus every five mintues to a regular every two hours or so. Good luck. I would definitely go see a doctor to determine if that's your case and what's right for you.

I have the same problem. Talk to your doctor about taking the birth control pill (Yasmin didn't work for me, ask for Levlin or Seasonale).

Anyway, here are some things that work for me:

    1. Sit in a hot, deep bath. Stay there as long as possible.

    2. Curl up with a heating pad. The drugstore sells Thermacare heating pads that you can attach to the inside of your pants. That way, you can continue your life as normal and still have the heating pad.

    3. Eat a hot meal. (This doesn't work for me, but my mom says it really helps her. Maybe it will help you.)

    4. Take Advil or Aleve. Combined with the treatments I listed above, you might feel almost no pain.

    5. Try to move as little as possible (shifting your body might upset your uterus). Lie on your side, or lie on your back propped up by pillows. These positions will shift your center of gravity away for your pelvis, which making it easier on your uterus.

    I hope I helped!

I take aleve and take tylenol in between and it works fairly well. I take 3 tabs 3 times a day of aleve as my gyno said ok for cramps as not everyday taking them but do have some food on your stomach before taking aleve as it can cause ulcers if on empty stomach. Also I increase water intake as this will help with bloating.

I'm sorry you are hurting, know how you feel and hope it helps you to feel better.

I have horrible cramps every month and can't take anything due to medication allergies.

Heating pads are great. I use the air activated heat packs for when I have to work. They fit under the clothes so no one can see it. Also, light exercise helps.

I absolutely don't understand. i'm the same way. i'm on day 3 of my era. on the first day i presumed that i change into going to die. that is how undesirable i felt. every time i tried to take pills my abdomen receives dissatisfied and that i commence to vomit the entire nighttime. the nice and cozy temperature water did not help that a lot. So i'm actual contained in the rest room all nighttime. i choose help too. something that isn't going to dissatisfied my abdomen.

Try taking 3 200mg Advil and a hot bath to try to calm the muscles.

My friend has horrible cramps and she says taking motrin helps a lot if you take it continually.

I've also found that my cramps go away when I run, but your case is probably more severe than mine.

  • im really sorry for what youre going through. this might sound crazy but do some crunches (exercise). it always works for me. but everyone else is also right about the heatpad and motrin. just try it all and see what works best. good luck sweetie.

Midol menstrual does the trick.if not, then try a warm bath followed by a heating pad to your abdomen. and try staying away from cold stuff.
