Help! Spiders in my X-Mas Tree?

Question

First of all, I'm terrified of spiders (go ahead and laugh at me if you want.) 
I found an egg sack in my Christmas tree after we brought it in. I got rid of it, and thought "problem solved." But evidently it hatched before I found it, and my tree is now infested with baby spiders. 
I took the tree outside so they wouldn't over run my house. I know that spiders can survive in the cold, and spraying the tree with pesticides is not an option because:
1. Pesticides are flamable.
2. I have 2 small kids and two cats.

So what is my best option for getting rids of these spiders? (Without trashing the tree and getting a new one, or leaving the tree outside for the whole season.)

Man, hard question.  I would just spray the base of the tree before placing it back in the holder.  Fill the holder with water and boric acid. (Do this outside).  Another product would be Sevin Dust.  I know these contain pesticides but unless you cat or children actually lick the area, you are okay.  Might work, but that is awful for you.  You may actually have to trash the tree.  I hate spiders too and I am afraid of them as well.

Personally, I would like to see if you can return the tree and complain and maybe get a new one.

Yuck.  Too bad!  Call the tree lot.  They should give you a new one and take back this one for free.  Part of their responsibility is to provide a pest free tree.  Call them and tell them the problem and what they are going to do to fix it.  This is not the time to be nice.  This is a total pain but spiders could be in your house all weekend.

I think you need to get a new tree because you said you was scarted of spiders so the best option will be for you is to buy a new one.
