Yes, you need to do it for every school year. If you need it for this coming spring or summer then you need to fill out the FAFSA for the 2006-2007 school year. If you need it for this coming fall then you need to fill out the FAFSA for the 2007-2008 school year, which will not become available until January. Hope this helps!

Yes, you need to file a renewal every year, as close to January 1 as possible. The Department of Education opens its doors to people interested in filing their 2007 FAFSA on January 1, 2007. Here's an insider tip - the closer you can file your FAFSA to that date, the better. The longer you wait, the worse your chances are of obtaining grants and subsidized financial aid like the Subsidized Stafford Loan. The reason is very straightforward - there's a limited amount of grant aid available each year, and it's allocated on a first come, first served basis. The Department of Education doesn't permit you to file your FAFSA for the 2007-2008 year before January 1, so be sure you apply as close to that day as possible.

I am currently going thru the same process with my FAFSA application. I am pretty sure that you need to complete one every year for eligibility confirmation. However, if you still have yours and your parent's PIN's, it should take some of the process off. I know that when I was filling out mine, it was long as hell.

yep, but at least you only need to fill out 2 peices of paper instead of the whole form like before. All you need to do is show that your income from this year is around the same amount it was for last year. If its not, then have fun filling out even more forms.

Yes. In most cases you can go online to www.easyfafsa.com orwww.ifap.ed.gov and renew your old information instead of filling out all information every year. In many cases they will send you the application each year and you can just look over the app. and fix any changes.

There are a lot of scholarships available. I suggest going to Google and conducting a search from there. I actually won a $5,000 scholarship about a year ago, and I recently found another contest by the same company for a $10,000 scholarship. It's free to enter, so there's no reason not to.

You may want to call the financial aid office of the school you attended. When I went to school, they just renewed it every semester when I registered for classes, but I don't know how they handle these days...Go CSUS Hornets!

you do it once a year...for example you do it in 2006 for the Aug 2006-May 2007 school year.
