I'm on the pill and bleeding? Normal?

I just had a baby and this is my second week on birth control. I am on the pill. The problem is I have been having some bleeding. It is enough bleeding that it is going thru my pants. Is this normal because I just started the pill?

I would love to hear what you have to say before I call the doctor.

Update:

Sorry, second month. No wonder I thought some of the answers didn't make sense.

My baby is 11 weeks old.

After delivery bleeding may be exceed upto 15-20 days.

    or more may vary.

this is normal and no need to take pills at this time if you are breast feeding your baby.

    Consult ur doctor

Bleeding can be a little irregular when you start any kind of hormonal contraception. This includes the combined pill, mini pill, injection and implant. If this is your first packet after having your baby, carry on, but use condoms as well as you may not be fully covered from the contraception point of view. Spotting may occur whether or not you breastfeed, but is likely to stop once you are into your second or third packet.

If it doesn't and you are taking the combined pill, you may need a slightly higher dose. See your doctor or family planning nurse, but remember that you should use condoms until it is sorted out.

With the mini pill, periods can take a long time to settle down, sometimes as much as six months. Bleeding is not usually heavy, but do discuss it with your family planning nurse or family doctor if the spotting lasts for longer than three months or if you are finding it unmanageable.

If the bleeding occurs after sex make an appointment with your doctor as soon as you can.

convinced. it may ensue from purely forgetting one pill. The pill regulates your cycle. in case you leave one pill out it confuses your body quite - so it may commence bleeding. it may also be that you bypass over the subsequent era.. Don no longer ignore that your birth control isn't operating now for yet another 4 weeks!!! Any sex, also as a lot as 3 days before you disregarded the pill can lead or have led already to a being pregnant. be careful. Make a being pregnant-living house-try in 3 weeks to make effective you're probability-free. If each thing is going nicely you may probability-free the holiday to the record. (even if, it truly is something an OB may also answer with the aid of telephone???) reliable luck, take care, wish you're superb. Wild_pig.

Considering I am only 19 and have never had children, the doctor might be a better choice!!

However, when I was 13, my mother gave birth to my first brother. 14, I got my sister, 15 I got another brother!!!(wow!!!)

After my mom had the kids she bled for quite some time. Also, I am on the pill yet I still get my period. I guess it all depends on what pill your on. I'm on ortho Try-Cyclin (I hope the spelling is correct).

I'd call the doctor. Or maybe somebody older and wizer will answer you ;) !!

    Good luck! Hope your okay!

your hormones are probably still messed up from having a baby. my mom said she didn't even realize she was pregnant with my sister at first because she was still messed up from having me (and my sister is three years younger then me). bleeding is also a normal side effect of the pill. i'm on birth control, and have been for months, but i still get the occasional bleeding. still, i would make an appointment with the doctor, just to be on the safe side.

The fact that you asked the question indicates that you already know that something is wrong. You should immediately contact your doctor and schedule an appointment

sometimes it is normal for you to bleed heavy when you just start the pill...especially after you just had ababy...but just give your doc a call anyways,...
