What do you all think about the ACLU.......?

Wanting to ban saying MERRY CHRISTMAS all because not every person in the USA are Christians.

Everyone is flooding the ACLU (Americans for Civil Liberty Union) with Christmas cards this year in an outrage against it. Are you in too?

it seems to fly over everyone's head that it is only "merry christmas" they want to ban and not anything else.

people say christians whine...but show me where all the jewish holidays and muslim holidays are being criticized...

thanks...you;ve inspired me to write a letter to those secular humanistic elitists...

    Merry Christmas.......

  • I tell you what, they all got too much time on their hands. If they want to ban Merry Christmas, then they gots to ban Happy Hanuka and Happy Kyanzah. And once they stop there, they ain't gonna stop. They'll go after our rights to watch NASCAR, hunt, fish, set off fireworks, and drive pick-up trucks. Y'all gotta stop with the "we gots to worry about what everyone does" stuff or we will not be living in a free place.

nope because everyone isn't, but honestly I don't see how saying Merry Christmas relates to religion, isn't it an American thing? isn't this America? that is my whole perspective but I guess they have to think about others. We had issues at our company because we are owned by Israelis but we are in America and run by Americans so we have a christmas tree up, and someone here is jewish and everyone is complaining about where the menorah (i think that is how you spell it), so yeah I guess they have to think of others, but I honestly don't see saying "merry Christmas" as a religious thing, but more of something that is yearly with the country--it is a part of our country...

I am a card carrying member of the ACLU. I believe that every American deserves equal right and equal protection under the law.

The ACLU is not trying to ban Americans from saying "Merry Christmas," they are trying to insure that our right to freedom of religion is protected. When the government seeks to enshrine one religious belief above all others it is a violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

People came to this country to escape religious persecution. Why do you feel the need to impose it here? Not everyone is a Christian. What's wrong with a little common courtesy? I appreciate it when people say "Happy Holidays" in the store. They don't know what my faith is and by showing that gestures they are ensuring that they're not ramming their faith down my throat.

I don't see a problem with that. America is not a Christian nation, we are a home to all faiths.

The ACLU'S mission is to defend the Bill of Rights nothing more nothing less. In these times when so many personal liberties are being sacrificed in the name of security I'm really glad they're there even if I don't personally like everything they do. "Those who would sacrifice their liberties for security deserve neither" T. Jefferson

The ACLU is an organization who is out to protect the civil rights of all Americans. Not just the things you think should be allowed or not allowed.

They Have even taken up a case that to protect Rush Limbaugh, The KKK and many other groups that people find distasteful..

America has a constitution and they fight to make sure everyone is protected.

The people sending the Christmas Cards want to do away with our constitution and make us a religious state like Saudi Arabia and other countries that do not enjoy freedom.

I am so tired of all this politically correct BS and this is just part of it. It's been Merry Christmas for how many years?? And now fight it? If we're not careful, the national motto with be Feliz Navidad!

They should be thanking God for creating such a useless position for them in life. Who has the time to worry about such asinine crap but the ACLU? GET A REAL JOB LOSERS!!!!!

ACLU has nothing better to do. But, it will continue until the silent majority grows a backbone a sticks up for themselves - me included.

i think they should concentrate on actually helping people with real problems. There are people that can't get jobs because of their skin color, but no, we have to worry about saying Christmas. I'm Christian, I celebrate it, if they don't like it they don't have to celebrate it. It's called freedom of choice.
