You will only need a business degree if you seek employment for a good paying career. Plus, it is an advantage if you are seeking to start a business and need a loan. The banks consider you less of a risk if they are convinced that you have some knowledge of what you'll be doing.
But, if you just want to start your own business, then you do not need a degree.

It depends on what type of business you want to do -- there are so many aspects to a business - finance/management, marketing, human resources....that is why most programs offer a generic business degree with some sort of minor in an emphasis area (as pointed out above)
I'd try and figure out what type of "business" you want to go into, and then explore options from there. I majored in communications, but worked in human resources for years --
many degrees are transferrable to the business world. Depends on what you want to do. Good luck!

To be an entrepreneur, you do NOT need to study business in college. In fact, to get a good entry-level analyst or research job in a bank or brokerage, you don't need it either.
Some here will tell you, "Absolutely!" but it's simply not the case. Employers want new college grads who have writing, research, and reasoning skills - you can get that with any liberal arts major.
Good luck!

you don't need to but you should. you are not going to get EXTENSIVE (behind the scenes) knowledge by working in an office somewhere. supplement your knowledge with classes specific to your area of interest (for example: financial accounting, retail marketing, etc.)
