Bearded Dragons?

How often do hatchlings shed? Should you help them with getting the shedding skin off or just spray them with water and bathe them?

As baby beardies grow they can shed often depending on rate of growth. Adults shed less frequently. Do not pull off shedding, you can damage the new skin. If they seem to have a problem shedding just increase the humidity a little (sparying with water) or soaking them in warm not hot water for 10-15 min.

Hatchling growth has a lot to do with it, but if you got your baby from a good breeder it should be shedding constantly, and growing about an inch a week.

DO NOT HELP THEM get any shed off. Simply spray and bathe hatchlings several times a day. Once they are over 8" you can reduce the amount of spraying, but the #1 cause of death of baby beardies is dehydration.

Only reason to help them is to check the toes and tail tip and make sure these isn't any old [longer than a couple weeks] shed.

They will shed often; because they are growing so quick. Try not to help them get the shed off. You can damage scales by doing so. I only help if it is on their eyelid and getting in their eyes. Definatly spray them often and bathe them. The more moisture; the easier it will be for them to shed.

Well they will shed until they get thier normal size. They eat alot so they will grow fast. And it would be best if u would just let them shed off the dry skin them selfs, yes just sprey them down and but them in some water for an half hour. Hope i help u solve ur problem. "Riogrande"

I had some BDs and I don't remember them shedding..... I used to help my iguana shed tho... I figured the dried out skin prob'ly felt itchy... Once I had an ig who had some shed stuck around her toes and it never came off so her toes became deformed. That was before I got her tho. When she came to my house I got rid of the dead skin but her toes never quite recovered, so I would watching the shedding process, just to be sure.
