why doesn't my dog go into his new dog house?

I recently build my 5mo. old puppy a house and he wont step in it why? or how should I make him, its really cold outside?

    Sometimes it helps to put in his favorite toys, or something that smellsfamiliar to him. It also might have to do with the wood it was made with. Some wood odors are more potent to dogs than people. He might also be so used to being with you, that he doesn't want to be out in the cold. Unless he really can't be inside, why would you get a companion, only to make him stay outside?

    he is scared and doesn't know what to do about it. give him a bit to sniff around and see whats up w/ it. Put food and toys inside too. he will get used to it.

    He's got to get used to it. Put in a blanket with his smell on it, toys, eventually he'll get in it, if not that's ok.

    unless you go in the dog house too...he wont...he's just a baby and needs you or his mom...
