Help about excel file?

Whenever I try to open an excel file i usually save it also, but if i want to open two or more excel files at the same time only one excel file remails and the other automatically disappears. I mean to say that if i want to work on two excel files i am unable to do so because when i start an excel file and want to work on another excel file the time i open another excel file the previous file disappears automatically. Please suggest some remedy to overcome this problem

Got few approach to do this.

Most of them already answer by the others. So i just tell the one they didn't said.

    1. Go to Menu Windows. You will notice there are item start with numbers, that is the workbook you currently opened. you can choose from the menu or use ctrl + tab to switch between workbooks.

Or you can do this then you can get rid of this forever (unless you change computer or reinstall).

Go to Tools > Options > View, and check "Windows in Taskbar.

    Hope it helps.

Normally you can see only one file at a time. All the other open files are at the back of your open file in the front. If you click Window option at the top you will be able to see othe files. For switching from one file to the other just select it from the drop-down menu of Window option.

Alternatey, to view multiple sheets or workbooks at the same time:

    1. Open the workbooks you want to view.

To view multiple sheets in the active workbook, click New Window on the Window menu. Switch to the new window, and then click a sheet you want to view. Repeat for each sheet you want to view.

    2. On the Window menu, click Arrange.

    3. Under Arrange, click the option you want.

To view sheets in only the active workbook, select the Windows of active workbook check box.

Ok, it doesnt disappear, it goes to the background. If you open two files up, simply click on the minimize button for the file. Then you will be able to see them both.

Remember the minimize button for the file window, not the program window.

    Hope this helps...

It has not disappeared, it is still openeed in the background (or say behind the current file.), to work in more then 1 file together yuo can do this:-

    1. Go to "Window" menu

    2. Select "Arrange" option

    3. Now select "Horizontal" or "Vertical" to see all of the windows you are working on.

Hope this will solve your problem.

    It wil not dis appear.

It just goes to background .

You can use ALT + TAB Key to navigate to that file.

If u want to work with the old one then minimize current window.

If u want to work with all files then arrange windows using window menu Arrange Cascade, Split etc...

Go to windows / arrange / cascade.

You can see both the files togather.

You can not open two diff. files with the same name togather.
