Adam, Eve and Sustainability of the Earth?

Clearly Adam and Eve and their future offspring would have to eventually die in order that the Earth be sustained. Death is the only motivator for action and, without it, every endeavor would prove meaningless. Was temptation, sin and ensuing death part of a comprehensive cosmic plan, leading to redemption from God in order to have a personal relationship with our Creator and to, at the same time, provide us with purpose in our lives---inevitable death giving meaning to our strivings (art, ect)? Provide at least three sentence answers; no ad hominem's or other logical errors, please.

Update:

Ok, assume that Adam and Eve's offspring continued to reproduce and never died. Can you imagine the population outcome? It would be absurd. I'm using this idea to get to more profound thinking about God's nature and the nature of death which might not be as bad as we think.

Read the events that lead to adam and eve induging... Decide for yourselves whose fault was it!

If Adam and eve did not exist... there would not have been any human beings! The first of the species of human beings the revered Adam and Eve were the first to surface on Mother Earth as human beings. Their direct ancestors being the ape family!

Now Adam and Eve came onto this Earth. They had both to act as a family. Both were son and daughter of God. That made them brother and sister. How come they could have fathered children?

In the initial stages of development of human life... nothing existed which we could have called as society or community. It was a raw savage world. As per the theory of Charles Darwin, "it was the time for survival of the fittest". It was the time to do and die.

Words like ethics and morality did not exist for even words did not exist during those times. The Lipi (written form of communication) was developed at a much later stage in time.

Even a brother and sister relationship did not exist at that time. There were only two human beings who had surfaced on Mother Earth. They had to copulate and produce children. They did not do it intentionally. They never knew anything about it.

It was that it happened. They did it and something was born. At that moment of time they would have been extremely surprised not knowing what to do about it. Eventually they would have realized it was one of them.

They reared that child and with passage of time another child was born. This time it was a female child. As this small family progressed further... this male and female child copulated at the appropriate time. And the whole family started to grow.

Now there were two families. With passage of time many more families came into existence. Until this point of time there was nothing like morality and ethics that played any role. For the sake of their survival and progeny these families kept on multiplying.

This was the only way to keep intruders at bay. They had to protect themselves from the wild beings roaming Mother Earth.

Ever since the Revelations of God came into existence... the human being who had invoked these words of God realized that the system had to be ordered at some stage. And some system of morality and ethics came into being.

As of today... the copulation by the children of Adam and Eve was a sin but at that time it was not a sin for the relationship of brother and sister never existed in those times.

The development of relationships in human life came at a very later the stage. It was only possible when the community would have developed into a massive strength. Population somewhere in thousands would have prompted the wise and the elders of those times to separate out into distinct families.

We need to understand that whatever is truth today may not hold tomorrow. In a scientific developing world the values whether they are ethical, moral or otherwise keep changing.

We also need to understand that during the times of Mahabharata... the battle was fought using swords, horses and elephants. But now the warfare consists of atomic bombs, missiles and chemical warfare. More on adam and eve here- http://www.godrealized.com/dharma_definition.html

Not so! Adam and Eve were to never die. The human body is constantly replacing it's self with the regeneration of cells. It is a perfect creation. The problem is that you must be in faith to have that reality. When sin came in the picture, it was by being convinced that they would not die if they broke out of the mold of reality and took another look at things. It means that the divine order of things was broken. It was no longer cut and dried. The devil formerly known as Lucifer was given the keys to creation and He learned how to to create also. Problem is that what he created is foreign to the original idea for humans. With this in mind the body has been subject to thing that are like being a fish out of water. Survive yes they have accomplised that but everlasting life, NO, not without renewal in the Spirit of God and returning to the mind set that Adam and Eve had before they decided to take another look at reality. Had they never sinned, sin sickness and death would not be here in this World. Since God's perfect plan is still God's perfect plan. If you can overcome yourself and surrender to His Holy Spirit, then you will live as long as you want. There is a place where perfect health prevails and there is a place where you can walk with God today. It is almost impossible because of the mindset that man and satan have evolved into but it is avalible. Why do we strive today? The reason is that we can lead others into the Kingdom of God and be willing vessels for God to use in that purpose. The best thing that could happen is that we went directly to God the minute we are restored to Him. But then once you are restored it really doesn't matter what form of where you are at in the creation, you have purpose in God. I personally had a lot of fun in my life, but it all ended in dead end streets. Now I operate in the Mind of Christ and have the Holy Spirit as a Teacher and I look forward to everyday. It is a brand new experience as I renew my mind in Christ and let him take me where He want's me to go. It is without a doubt the most exciting journey there is on the Planet, to walk and talk with God on a regular basis. He is all knowing and what He can show you surpasses anything imaginable that satan and his mundaine tribe can even come close to.

Praise Jesus, The Father and the Holy Spirit, Amen

  • Interesting question, it seems that if god was a literal, omnipotent creator he could fashion a universe in which the earth's resources were inexhaustable. Was this the case before original sin and then after the fall "death" and the nutrient cycle was applied to all things? I don't agree with the "death as the only motivator" part of your argument, particularly in people who believe in an after life. That makes anything pre death meaningless.

    There is no god

No, absolutely not. God did not "intend" sin. Neither do humans kill each other just so they may be able to grieve. If you are taking a philosophy class, just remember -its just philosophy, don't get too analytical or you will miss the point.
