The cardinals hand pick the pope's bennie. He wears this in honor of all the alter boys who suffered for the sake of the church. Every since the planting of the last pope, JP II, this German wanted to fit in, since he was a Nazi youth. It is like when I go to the gay bar, I want to fit in.

The skullcap worn by the Catholic clergy is called a zucchetto.

All Catholic clergy are entitled to wear the zucchetto.

+ The Pope's zucchetto is white

    + Cardinals' are red

    + Bishops' are violet

+ Priests' and deacons' are black

Some think that zucchettos go back to when clerics shaved the center of their heads into a tonsure. Zucchettos would help keep their heads warm.

I think it's wrong that he wears it especially since the Bible outrightly bans having your head covered as a man in the church

especially when you're the one leading the church. Let no man have his head covered before the Lord

Besides the only people allowed to do that are Kings because of their position ( God also says repecte authority because He let them be there) A king is supposed to wear a crown always as a sign of his office so him wearing a hat is consiered to be showing his head. I'm originally Nigerian and my people believe that for a king to show his bare head is death so he just wears the hat to symbolize that.

    It's yarmulke.

    It's the Proto-Semitic Origin legacy.

The Muslims also wear the skull cap. And they also circumcise. And they have the ritual covering of the hair by their women. And they have kosher which they call halaal.

    So what?

    Christianity doesn't have all that.
