I don't live in Alaska but I have a close family friend that does and I have been there before. During the summer the temperatures are pretty mild. When I was visiting in August the temperature never reached more than 68 degrees and I was there for ten days. It was also cloudy and I only saw the sky for about a half hour my entire stay.

If you are considering attending college in Alaska I have heard the tution is very low. Residents are also paid for living there since the government is using up the Alaskan resident's supply of oil. If you do decide to move there check out Seward and the marine animal center.
