Is The Odyssey about a man's journey towards his feminine side and who are the women who helped him?

No it isn't. Have you ever watched the movie Troy? You know the guy who comes up to Achilles (a.k.a. Brad Pitt) when he is sword fighting with his cousin towards the beginning of the movie? His name is Odysseus...he is also the one who came up with the Trojan horse (a trick to get the Greeks into the city of Troy, which also won the war). Well, after Odysseus pretty much won the war he proclaimed himself as a God...which angered the Gods (Poseidon is the one I think). So, on his way back home to Ithica there are many barriers in his way...it takes many years (not for sure how many...maybe 20). By this time his son (who was only a baby when he left) is all grown up and his wife is looking for a new suitor (though she doesn't want to, but is being forced).

Okay, I'm tired of explaining..lol....why didn't you read the book? There is more to it...like the tree that is the headboard for their bed (only Odysseus and his wife knew this, so that is how she was able to tell it was really him..) and how he shoots his arrow.

Funny thing is though that I have never read the book...but I know what it's about.

Anyway, most of the women that helped him were goddesses--well, no, actually Athena was pretty much the only one who helped him, and usually she was disguised as a man. The other goddesses didn't do anything but sleep with Odysseus.

Feminine side... HA!

Start by looking at the scene with the goddess who lives in the cave on the deserted island who holds Odysseus prisoner there and won't let him leave. That should have something to say about Odysseus's journey to the feminine side.

the odyssey is about a man trying 2 g home 2 his wife. start on the island of calypso (a goddess) who won't let him leave, then go to the lotus eaters, then then witch circe, then the sirens, and the 2 monsters...

I do not think within the fantasy of masc or fem aspects of guys. I consider guys are born with the equal potential for emotions and lots of guys effectively succumb to the "ills of society" i.e. forcing guys to magnify a terrific, pseudo-macho snapshot.
