F's on transcript?

Speaking as a college professor with nearly 15 years teaching experience, I can honestly tell you that it all depends on why you're getting those F's.

If it's because you just slacked off and decided to "party," then that will definitely hurt you. But if it's due to a personal situation, class was simply beyond you, "lousy professor," or problems managing work and school, those are more understandable reasons.

The point is that another school will definitely want to know the reasons for those F's, and if they feel they weren't justified, then it'll be tough. Just realize that there plenty of people who fail classes, especially freshman who are totally new to the college experience and aren't used to how things work.

I for example, had failed a class many years ago because my professor was the worst ever. Every example given was irrelevant and useless. And the entire class all boiled down to a single grade, the final exam. Botch that, and it's pretty easy to fail. But I wasn't afraid to tell people that's why I failed, and who wouldn't understand given those circumstances.

That's what matters in the end. And if you really got those F's because you decided to slack off, then the question will be whether you've changed and have learned from your mistakes. Realizing mistakes and taking corrective action is a positive! Not realizing or realizing them and then failing to take action is a negative.

Ok, I had to withdraw from the my university as a freshman right during midterms for a medical reason. I went through it official and officially withdrew from the school even though the withdrawl period passed. All it meant for me was that none of my money that went towards tution, feees, dorms, etc. could be refunded.

If you "withdrew" simply by not going to class anymore, You need to do an official withdrawl immediately and your grade should just be an incomplete (which is what I got).

I think that as long as you withdraw officially, you'll just get an incomplete, not F's. Of course that may depend on the school, but check with your school about it if you are concerned.

If you have A's and B's, finish the class and take the finals. There's only a week or two left.

Complete the classes and accept the grades you earn.
