I had fertility problems with my first pregnancy. Is conceiving usually easier the second time?
My husband and I have been together for 6 years. It took me 4.5 years to become pregnant. We never actively tried to have a child we just had the if it happens it happens attitude. I had my period one to two times a year. Approximately 5 months after my son was born my periods became regular. I know that I have PCOS is it possible that i'm ovulating normally now? Has anyone experienced this?

It is common among women with PCOS to be somewhat more regular and normal after a pregnancy. The pregnancy kinda keeps the PCOS under control, so right after...your symptoms may be less or even gone. Im not sure if breast feeding at all effects the PCOS.
Also, you may be getting regular cycles and still not ovulating. There is no easy way to know. You could try charting your temps. I would stay away from the home ovulation tests. They are very innacurate for women with PCOS. The test is designed to detect a LH surge and women with PCOS have messed up LH levels.
Also, your PCOS might be a little more under control if you are watching your diet. If you really want another baby, then I would suggest actively treating your PCOS. The best treatment is a low carb or diabetic diet, exercise, and using an insulin sensitizing drug such as metformin.
It is also important to know that you should be treating your PCOS even if you are not ttc. Women with PCOS have higher risks for many things (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, blood clots, certain kinds of cancer). Treating the PCOS lowers those risks.
I suggest visiting http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhpcos/ It's a great place to ask all your PCOS questions. Good luck.

Being obese could make it extra stable to conceive, yet having stated that secondary infertility could be brought about with the help of many stuff. no longer that i might say you're laid low with secondary infertility yet...you have in straightforward terms been attempting for 3 months. it may take from 6 months to a year for a superbly fertile couple having time-honored intercourse to fall pregnant, any decrease than that and the docs won't even hardship to check out, they're going to easily inform you to grant it time. Antibiotics many times do no longer intrude with being pregnant, in reality they intrude with delivery administration rather.

It is not unusual for a woman's body to regulate itself after a pregnancy. I didn't have this particular problem, but I've certainly heard of this phenomenon many times. If you don't want to conceive immediately, then I would strongly suggest that you employ some type of birth control; if you want to have another child now, then go for it, and good luck!

Sounds like something my aunt talked about four kids ago.
Her and her boyfriend didn't plan, it just happened after almost fifteen years of not protecting themselves then after the first then came one after another after another after another then she started preventing it.
Yes it is easier after the first to have a second right away.
Be careful and congrats!
