The learn to speak cds are a load of crap i find it impossible, you need to find somone to teach you the language i find that much easier now i know french and spanish well

  • Yes I did; I learned Haitian Creol that way and I believe they're a valid instrument to learn a language if supported by grammar books too; CDs help you learn the pronunciation; good deal indeed;) A real teacher would be better of course, but if you can't find one, CDs are a good option.

    Try: 'Pilmsleurs audio courses'.

The one I got sucked. I am fully bi.... lingual that is,(spanish) and I couldn't even understand the words or the sentence structure. This one said something about 11 languages of the world or something. I would say that a good learning system is out there though. I'm kinda curious to see what kind of answers you'll get

Yes, I've tried and No, not enough. You need to submerse yourself in the language as in move to a region or location in which the language is spoken all the time. Then the cd may be of use to you. Otherwise you will only be able to find the bathroom and such.

I learned Spanish with Pimseuler's course. It is thorough and if you are dedicated you can plug through it. It's kind of dull and boring and it's also very expensive.

I learned German using Radio Deutsche Welle's online course.

It's a site with High Quality MP3 recordings and PDF documents of written work to learn the written language. There are several levels from Beginner to Professional. It is very well done, humorous, and best of all, it's free.

i never tried using them before to learn a language, but i remember sampling one to see what it was like to refresh my head, the learn to speak cd's seem only usefull up to the point where you can get familiar with the rules, etc.with the language.as far as it helping you to perfect the language,i wouldnt say it can take you that far,its allways best to have someone actually teach you, because they would be able to explain alot of things better to you, such as helping with pronunciation,i know the cds have those built in sound files where they helping you prononce the word or sentence or whatever it might be,but i find it personally easier myself when someone else explains it to me,cause they will be able to make you understand it easier, its kind of hard to explain what im trying to say, hands down someone else teaching you is better compaired to learning from a cd.

Some people swear by the Pimsleur method which doesn't require you to learn how to write. I have used them (not consistently) to learn French. They are a good idea... or I would say hire a tutor. Interactive CDs are good too for the computer - such as Rosetta Stone.

    i have tried language cd's

and generally the cheaper the cost the less they are affective.

but a person must diligient to complete the tutorials until he can speak fluently. but the best way is to live where the language is spoken and go to class and write down the alphabet and words and sentence in repitition.

children learn without knowing written words

but adults have to asociate written words with pictures and spoken language

I've tried them, not very effective. Practice in real life is the best way.

    God bless you
