iPod - Can I manage an iPod using Windows Media Player ???

nope you can't. the only way you can manage an ipod is through iTunes. WMA won't synch, or manage your ipod. it wont' recognise the ipod.

is there some reason why you don't want to use iTunes? you don't have to download all your music from the itunes music store. in fact, most of the time i just use it to synch my music, create playlists, etc. for the first year i didn't buy ANY music from the itunes store.

itunes is a pretty good management software for your ipod. it rips your cds to mp3 really quickly too. best part is it can recognise most cds - so u don't even need to type in the names of the songs after ripping.

That is not true. You can't use WMP but you do not have to use iTunes. I use real player with mine because I refuse to use iTunes because it does not update correctly and always messed up. Real Player will recognize the iPod as another hard drive storing memory and you just drag your song to that path of the drive.

No you cannot because Windows Media Player (Microsoft) and iTunes (Apple) are rivals and their things are not compatible with one another.

Just download songs off of LimeWire [ http://www.limewire.com/english/content/home.shtml ]. It's not that bad. You can also upload CDs into iTunes, that's what I do as well as download.
