How old will Tiger Woods be when he surpasses Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 majors - or will he surpass it?

Well, Tiger has won 12 majors since turning pro. He will turn 31 on Dec 30th of this year. He has been a pro for 10 years. So, that is an average of 1.2 majors per year. He needs 7 more to break the record. If he continues to average 1.2 per year, he will tie the record in 2011, break the record in 2012, when he will be 37 years old.

I personally think it will be sooner since Tiger went 0'fer in 2003 and 2004 and still has 12 majors under his belt

Yes. I think Tiger's peak was arguably the greatest peak in sports history alongside Michael Jordan. There was a time when the record was no doubt going to be broken. Now, more people are betting against him breaking the record. And understandably so. So if he does break the record I will be very happy that he was able to bounce back from all of the adversity. And I really think he deserves the record. I'm not sure if there's a person in professional sports that put as much time and effort and preparation into their sport the way Tiger did with golf. I hope he takes a giant step tomorrow.

No more than 35 years old. If he continues to win at least two a year (I think he will win three or more in '07) he will blow away Jack by the time he's 40.

at the rate he is playing and he is only 30 he seams older though..i would say 35 he has 12 at this time i would say he will win at least 2 for the next 3 years

I was gonna say around 40... and yeah, unless something drastic happens, he'll pass up Nickalus' record, for sure.

    i say 36

I personally dont think he will do it at all. The longer he plays the harder it will get.
