Is it normal to be on the Birth Control Pill & get a period 5 days before you're due & not on sugar pills yet?
I got my period 5 days earlier than what I'm suppose too. I'm not on the sugar pills yet but just got it last night. Is this normal? Or could this mean I'm pregnant?

Yes it can be noraml, it also depends on when you started the pill. birth control can make the bodies cycle go crazy sometimes if its trying to straighten you out. However, no.. why would you get your period just for being pregnant? Normally you miss your period because you are pregnant. there is something called implantation bleeding that can be the sign of pregnancy but that is only spotting. if you are ever pregnant and have a full on blood flow, that is never healthy nor a good sign. i think your cycle just might still be working itself out. a few times i had gotten my period early and i was bc. good luck girly, call a doctor if you have further questions.

These symptoms can be a number of things... Hormone changes Pregnancy side effects of the pill (yes they can happen after being on them for a long time) The best thing to do is see a dr. to make sure you are OK. Don't wait and remember your body is your temple.

You're probably not pregnant, but it could be that the pill isn't working for you. You should talk to a doctor about it.

I won't sppeculate to say that you could be pregnant, but this scenario definately warrants a trip to the doctor. It's much better to ease your mind and get checked out right away.
Source(s): I am a mother of five, ranging from 23-month-old twins to 11 years old (the 11-year-old was conceived while using the pill, but my sign was that I didn't have a period.) - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

Breakthrough bleeding is a sign the pills are not working. Please call your doctor and use protection if you do not want to become pregnant.
